The Minister's Study

Monday, 26 February 2018

This is not a man-cave.  It is Rev T's study / office / counselling room / prayer room etc.  It's the place  where all the grunt work that makes Sunday's and the church's day to day happen gets done.  All the stuff that no one notices, but has to happen for things to work.  The other place that serves this function is our local coffee shop.

Home office space

As you can see, it has all the usual things a study has - phones, computer equipment and books. Books are the tools of a Minister's trade.  Each sermon requires reading, research and prayer.  It's an essay cum presentation each week.  To do a good job, you need books.

Many books. Many, many books. More books.  Book friends for the books.  Shelves and floor space for the books.  Family members who love books. Books.  And they have to be old school, paper books.

Book case and Star Wars toys

I'm pretty sure Minister's compete over the size of their book collections. Most of them are not, "a right, riveting read". I've never felt the urge to borrow one.  The Star Wars memorabilia is all Rev T's.  But at least if they're here, they're not all over the house.

Love the Lord your God with all your passion and prayer, intelligence and energy

For God so loved the world, he gave his only son

Quick, before he comes back ...

Love this tender glance into the room where it all happens.
Thanks for your role in making Sunday worship happen in the world of your church family.

My best friend kicked her Pastor hubby our of the house into the shed because of all the books! At least they added heating and furniture to turn it into a nice study for him. I have to say those books are very handy for borrowing when I lead the ladies Bible study group, I'm just glad I can borrow them and don't have to store them as although I love books, they do take up so much space! #Tweensteensbeyond

Our shed is falling apart so I don't think that's a plan. He'll have to keep his study. l love books too but keep most of them on my Kindle to save space. Thank you for commenting

What a lovely insight! Every study should have a Star Wars collection and a cat. Thanks so much for sharing with us at #TweensTeensBeyond

It's really enlightening to sneak a peak at behind the scenes of a Sunday service, and the place where it all comes together. Thanks for linking to #DreamTeam x

Mufasa is a great guard cat! Bengals are very territorial - this is his house and we are his people. Something we didn't know when we got him.
