As I mentioned in last week's post, 2017 was not all that by the end although it started well. To be fair, there were some good bits. I made a start on some of my goals - understanding my finances better, having more fun, learning new things, creating more and consuming less. We got to spend time visiting some of our favourite places with our favourite people.
This year, I'm hoping for better things:
- More slow days
- More time in the kitchen cooking lovely things. Then eating them!
- More conversations on and offline
- More walks, with optional detours to the local coffee shop. Hand holding compulsory
- More flowers
Rather than write a long, rambling catch-up post, I thought I'd thank you for stopping by, share a few photos of last year and wish you all the best for 2018. (Not too late is it?!)
I love the idea of more slow days, we all seem so incredibly busy! #bigpinklink
ReplyDeleteIt does feel like that ... More slow dates would be great :) Thank you for commenting
DeleteSlow days! That is something we can all long for. I love snow days when instead of work we just have a day at home. Nothing planned. Just a day to be. #mg
ReplyDeleteThat sounds lovely :) Maybe without the actual snow ...
DeleteHello,
ReplyDeletenice post.
You'll find the right way to make it even more satisfying.
We also try to hit another way to consume less and get out of the treadmill.
We just use the possibilities that we have .....
Best regards
Uwe
I love the way you create things yourself. I am not practical at all!
DeleteThis is a goal for my this year. Think more positively, learn new things, and live with more fun:) #mg
ReplyDeleteGood luck! It sounds so easy but it's so hard. Thank you for commenting and have a lovely week
DeleteOh for a slow day! I've managed a radox bath...Does that count?! Baby steps! #TTB
ReplyDeleteGotta start somewhere! Maybe a Radox bath, a candle and a glass of something lovely next time :)
DeleteI have a cat like that, the face of innocence...lol. I need to talk more, off line and am making it a mission to do so, even if it does take me out my comfort zone #triumphanttales
ReplyDeleteOurs would bite you as soon as look at you. As he has very few teeth, it's more of gumming. Good luck with your mission.
DeleteSome lovely musing here. I still struggle to plan ahead, getting too caught up in what is happening now. Slowing down would definitely help. #fortheloveofBLOG
ReplyDeleteIt's all about balance maybe. Enjoying the now fully whilst keeping a eye out for what's ahead.
DeleteI am spending more time in the kitchen trying out new recipes. There are just so many on Pinterest! Yesterday, I made Vietnamese pork chops for the first time and my family loved it.
ReplyDelete#bloggersbest
Yum! That sounds lovely
DeleteI have a few slow days and then I jam everything in again...I can't help myself. #ForhtheloveofBLOG
ReplyDeleteI'm just as bad. I know the theory, I talk the talk but ... Hopefully writing it down and sharing it will help me do better
DeleteA deliberately slow day is a great idea. I end up with days when nothing gets done, but that's not the same at all.Trying to make time to appreciate things - a sunny spot in the garden, spring bursting through on hedgerows and woods, falling snow - is something I'm always striving for, but I never seem to quite achieve it #tweensteensbeyond
ReplyDeleteI'm doing my best although I'm still terrible at trying to do just one more thing ...
DeleteMy one contribution is what a beautiful cat! Ours was killed on the road a few weeks ago and I'm absolutely heartbroken. So I was drawn to Mufasa... #TweensTeensBeyond
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry for your loss. I miss all our furry friends still
DeleteI feel really soothed reading this post, it sounds so wonderful, the walks with detours for coffee just sounds ideal, I love your cat too! Thank you for joining #mg linky
ReplyDeleteThank you for hosting each week. Mufasa is really enjoying all his virtual fuss.
DeleteHappy new year, lovely to 'see' you again! The news does seem to be full of such atrocities doesn't it? It's horrid but I try and make sure that I look for the good everywhere too. I would really like some more slow days too. Thanks for linking up to the #bigpinklink this week.
ReplyDeleteThank you for hosting :) All the best for 2018
DeleteWhat fab pictures and adventures. I too want to add in more slow days. Though it seems to be easier said than done these days. Enjoy 2018 and all it has to offer 😊 thanks for joining us for the #dreamteam x
ReplyDeleteThe theory works so much better than the practice. Thank you for hosting each week
DeleteMore creating...I love that one! I also love the idea of taking the time to enjoy cooking instead of rushing around to get food on the table. Thanks for the inspiration. It's great to have you at #TweensTeensBeyond
ReplyDeleteI love cooking more elaborate things but usually it's all about what can I get on the table in the quickest time with the least fuss. :) Thank you for hosting
DeleteThis is lovely to read. I do love a goal! Even more lovely to have you back at #tweensteensbeyond. We've missed you x
ReplyDeleteThank you. I missed everyone too!
