Blankets

Monday, 1 May 2017

We love blankets.  There's one in almost every room of our house.   They're multipurpose.

You can wrap yourself in one and feel cosy, comfortable, safe, warm and hidden from the world while watching comfort TV.

You can style them to make the bed more interesting - added colour and texture - and an extra layer of warmth.  In summer, they can be used instead of a duvet.  There has to be something.  What would we fight over?!

They can be turned into a fort or rocket or ... for an instant indoors adventure when it's raining outside.  Or taken on a picnic or to the beach as something to sit on when it's sunny.  Then used as an extra layer when it turns cold and you're still outside.

We love them.  Although not as much as Mufusa.  Mufusa, also known as Muffy, is a handsome, friendly 4 year old Tom cat we adopted from the RSPCA. He's settling in to his forever home and we're all getting to know each other, but it's lovely having a new furry family member.

I'll do a separate post about the whole adoption process as we've learnt loads from it and you may find it useful if you're thinking about getting a rescue pet.

What a cute kitty. My cats will sleep on anything that is put on top of their ususal sleeping surface: blanket, laptop bag, suitcase, you name it.

Blankets are brilliant for that. I wish I'd got pictures of some of the dens we'd built when the Tubblet was small

we have one of those large, multi sectional couches that takes up most of the living room. There are always 4-5 blankets thrown about and yet somehow the dog and kid always want the same one #twinklytuesday

We obviously belong to the same school of thought on blankets (I say, wrapped up in a cosy afghan, typing away!). Muffy is gorgeous. Our tabby Oliver looks almost exactly the same as him. I am currently gazing at him asleep on our tartan blanket. Separated at birth? Lovely post!

Congratulations!!! He's very pretty! We have rescued 3 cats from shelters, well actually 4, but one passed away very young. Funnily enough I am typing this whilst I sit here with a blanket over m legs because I feel a bit cold, and have 2 cats playing at my feet, going in and out from under my sofa. Enjoy your beautiful boy xx #mg

Such a cute cat! We used to have a rescue cat too and he had a blanket that was covered in his fur. However, as part of our pre-marriage course the vicar came round to visit us in our natural habitat and he sat on the chair with the cat's rug. Well the cat was fuming and I didn't know what to do when the vicar stood up covered in cat hair! He saw the funny side though and mentioned in our service! #FridayFrolics

Awww. What is it with pets and blankets? When I was a teenager i Would often layout in the garden on a towel and catch a few rays. If I ever left my towel for a second I would return to find my dog and rabbit curled up together in my spot! Thanks for linking up to #FridayFrolics

Aww cute! I never used to get people having blankets everywhere, but recently I have taken up blankets everywhere! The cat's obsession with sitting on them bugs me, however! But my cat is black, so her hair really shows on all the blankets and does make them look horrible. I try to make her stick to specific blankets I have allocated her, but she always wants the others!

Thanks so much for joining us for #FridayFrolics
