We love blankets. There's one in almost every room of our house. They're multipurpose.
You can wrap yourself in one and feel cosy, comfortable, safe, warm and hidden from the world while watching comfort TV.
You can style them to make the bed more interesting - added colour and texture - and an extra layer of warmth. In summer, they can be used instead of a duvet. There has to be something. What would we fight over?!
They can be turned into a fort or rocket or ... for an instant indoors adventure when it's raining outside. Or taken on a picnic or to the beach as something to sit on when it's sunny. Then used as an extra layer when it turns cold and you're still outside.
We love them. Although not as much as Mufusa. Mufusa, also known as Muffy, is a handsome, friendly 4 year old Tom cat we adopted from the RSPCA. He's settling in to his forever home and we're all getting to know each other, but it's lovely having a new furry family member.
I'll do a separate post about the whole adoption process as we've learnt loads from it and you may find it useful if you're thinking about getting a rescue pet.

What a cute kitty. My cats will sleep on anything that is put on top of their ususal sleeping surface: blanket, laptop bag, suitcase, you name it.

DeleteBeautiful cat :) We have a blanket in our house that is frequently turned into a den or used in play, the kids love it! #marvmondays
ReplyDeleteAh, thank you. He knows he's handsome and does the best butter wouldn't melt face after doing something naughty like climbing out of the bin!
DeleteWe can't get enough of blankets in our house. We're always building camps and dens!! xx #dreamteam
ReplyDeleteBlankets are brilliant for that. I wish I'd got pictures of some of the dens we'd built when the Tubblet was small
DeleteAh what little cuties! We have a huge blanket that is so cosy and warm, my girls love to snuggle under it! #twinklytuesday
ReplyDeleteThank you. We have blankets of all sizes - including some really small ones that the Tubblet had on her pram. :)
Deletewe have one of those large, multi sectional couches that takes up most of the living room. There are always 4-5 blankets thrown about and yet somehow the dog and kid always want the same one #twinklytuesday
ReplyDeleteAlways the way! Everyone wants what someone else has.
DeleteThere is a blanket in every room in our house. We couldn't live without them, especially on these cold summer nights! Thanks for linking again. #TweensTeensBeyond
ReplyDeleteI know! Where has spring gone? :( It's so cold at the moment
DeleteWe obviously belong to the same school of thought on blankets (I say, wrapped up in a cosy afghan, typing away!). Muffy is gorgeous. Our tabby Oliver looks almost exactly the same as him. I am currently gazing at him asleep on our tartan blanket. Separated at birth? Lovely post!

Possibly. You never know with cats. :)
DeleteCongratulations!!! He's very pretty! We have rescued 3 cats from shelters, well actually 4, but one passed away very young. Funnily enough I am typing this whilst I sit here with a blanket over m legs because I feel a bit cold, and have 2 cats playing at my feet, going in and out from under my sofa. Enjoy your beautiful boy xx #mg
ReplyDeleteThank you. Your ragdoll cats are so pretty as well. I love seeing them on Instragram
DeleteWe are big blanket fans here! Our house is quite big and old and the central heating can never cope in the winter! Thanks so much for joining us at #TweensTeensBeyond
ReplyDeleteOur house can get cold as well. That's one of the reasons we have so many blankets. Thank you so much for commenting :)
DeleteOh I love a blanket! It's like a portable hug. You have yourself a gorgeous new addition to the family there. A worthy recipient of your prize blanket if ever I saw one. Thanks for sharing with #DreamTeam x
ReplyDeleteAh, thank you! Muffy is lovely - but grumpy! Thank you for commenting and for hosting each week
DeleteSuch a cute cat! We used to have a rescue cat too and he had a blanket that was covered in his fur. However, as part of our pre-marriage course the vicar came round to visit us in our natural habitat and he sat on the chair with the cat's rug. Well the cat was fuming and I didn't know what to do when the vicar stood up covered in cat hair! He saw the funny side though and mentioned in our service! #FridayFrolics
ReplyDeleteWe used to have gerbils and got a friend who who went to the local CofE church to look after them. One of them bit her vicar! Doing his bit for inter-church relations ...! Thank you for hosting each week :)
DeleteWe all for blankets, snuggles and cuddles here! Thanks for sharing with #tweensteensbeyond, Nicky

ReplyDeleteThank you for making him welcome. Thank you for hosting each week and have a good one
DeleteOh gosh he is adorable, I love cats..blankets are pretty amazing too,we have loads xx #mg
ReplyDeleteThank you :) He knows he's adorable though! He is a terrible show-off.
DeleteAwww. What is it with pets and blankets? When I was a teenager i Would often layout in the garden on a towel and catch a few rays. If I ever left my towel for a second I would return to find my dog and rabbit curled up together in my spot! Thanks for linking up to #FridayFrolics
ReplyDeleteWho knows! But Muffy would do exactly the same! You're only borrowing his blanket!
DeleteI've been eyeing up a blanket purchase recently. Maybe this is the sign that I should get it. #bestandworst
ReplyDeleteOh definitely. Blankets are instant fun and you can do so much with them. (Sorry for enabling!)
Deleteaww these pictures are so cute! our cats just prefer dirty laundry, i swear the dirtier the better!! #globalblogging
ReplyDeleteMuffy sniffs our shoes and climbs into the dirty laundry basket too. So weird ...!
DeleteWhat a cutie!!! Nothing beats a sot snuggly blankie! Your kitty has it right :) #globalblogging
ReplyDeleteThank you :)
DeleteI could've written this post myself. I ADORE A BLANKET! Literally, they are my life. Although my favourite "blanket" will always be my duvet! Thanks for sharing with #GlobalBlogging
ReplyDeleteBlankets are the best! Thank you for hosting each week :)
DeleteAww cute! I never used to get people having blankets everywhere, but recently I have taken up blankets everywhere! The cat's obsession with sitting on them bugs me, however! But my cat is black, so her hair really shows on all the blankets and does make them look horrible. I try to make her stick to specific blankets I have allocated her, but she always wants the others!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for joining us for #FridayFrolics
A cat always goes where you don't want it to go! It's weird ...
