In Discworld, Terry Pratchett gave the Trolls a numeral system of their own, based on powers of 4. The base numerals are one (1), two (2), three (3), many (4) and lots (16). These can be combined to form higher numbers. When combined, each numeral's value is added to those of the others, with higher-valued numerals taking priority over lower-valued ones, so 20 is written "lots many" rather than "many many many many many".
Here is my day in numbers. Using troll counting ...
1 day at work
2 cups of coffee. 1 in the morning and the other in the afternoon with my coffee buddy, S.
3 chapters of my book. (Jamaica Inn by Daphne du Maurier).
Many projects and too many meetings.
Lots of love and joy at finally getting home to be with the Tubblet and the Rev T.
Many, many pieces of ironing.
I ran out of numbers counting the times I looked at the news and thought, "Flipping heck ..." * Already! And it's only February ...

What has your day looked like? Let me know in the comments
* Or words to that effect ...
lol, I had a day of "many, many pieces of ironing and washing!" the other day! - it's still waiting to be put away too haha. I don't tend to watch the news anymore, makes me sad. I just rely on social media to tell me what's happening haha! Great post, I like the numeral system! - Becky x

The news makes me sad - in between making me angry. Thank you for the lovely comment. I'm glad you liked the post :)
DeleteOh what a lovely idea for a post. I might try this about my day too. Thanks for linking up with #coolmumclub x
ReplyDeletePlease do :) I'm glad you liked it and thank you for hosting each week
DeleteI have to admit you lost me in the opening paragraph, but then I never did get on with either maths or Terry Pratchett! I can relate to many many pieces of ironing though - I hate ironing and never do it unless I can absolutely avoid it! We always have an ironing pile of things that can't be put away without it, and until it's mounted up I don't even think about it! Thanks for joining us at #SharingtheBlogLove
ReplyDeleteSorry I lost you, but I do agree with you about the ironing. Neither of us loves it at all and it tends to get left until the basket is full. Thank you for hosting each week

DeleteGreat idea for a post! 3 hours of sports, 2 trips to the store, and 1 sick kid = 1 tired mama.
