Resolutions ... Better Late than Never

Monday, 23 January 2017

“That was the year that was —It’s over, let it go, That was the year that was —“
Please do not flush nappies, sanitary towels, paper towels, gum etc down this toilet

Last year I gave myself lots of goals.  A total self-improvement plan and make-over.  Unsurprisingly, I crashed and burned.  This year, I won’t be making the same mistake again.  I’ll make some brand new ones instead.

So new start, clean slate blah, blah … Some people make lists of what they want to achieve, how they’re going to do it step-by-step.  I am not that person.  Way too organised.  Instead, this year I hope too:
  • Eat less (but better) and move more.  Enough said.
  • Do things.  Nice, fun things that we can enjoy as a family, plus a few specially for me.  Like reconnecting with my blogging friends (sorry for going AWOL), rediscovering my love of writing and tolerance for photography.  I'm not sure I can blog in the same way I was before.  Makes no sense.  Bear with me as I figure out what works now.  It'll be a bit of a mishmash for a bit, but hopefully a fun and enjoyable one.  If you've got any suggestions of things you'd like, then share them in the comments.
  • Reduce, reuse, recycle.  Buy less things, use the things I have and pass on the things I don’t. The Tubbs family isn't ready for fully fledged minimalism, but there are some good ideas we can nick from it to make our lives better.
And something from a goals post I did a few years ago.  “Lord fill my mouth with worthwhile stuff and shut it when I’ve said enough”.  I know there is no try, only do, according to Yoda, but what does he know!

And that’s it.  How about you?  Any resolutions?

Still catching up on those Linkys, but my list is here.  Next week, the badges will be back.

These are some great goals and they don't seem too extravagant so I am sure you will achieve them. I notoriously make my goals hard to achieve so then of course fail! #BigPinkLink

Hope so! I did that last year - way too elaborate - so of course it didn't happen. Good luck with your goals too

I tend not to make resolutions, but I like "do things." I could probably stick to that one! #marvmondays

I would also like to do more. I have a list of family fun activities that I want to do thsi year. Too bad most of them are for the summer. I hope I don't run out of steam by then. #FridayFrolics

Summer seems a long way at the moment. It's been so cold recently! But it'll be here soon and hopefully you'll still have some steam left to get things done.

I love your goals. Eat less and move more is my personal fave. Although, you haven't said eat less of what, in general? Or just certain food types like chocolate ;-) #FridayFrolics

Some great goals - I hate having stuff everywhere but my husband is a bit of a hoarder. Fortunately having a baby was a good incentive to get him to chuck some things out as we needed the space! Good luck with your goals for 2017. #marvmondays

These sound great - simple and achieveable. I particularly like 'Do things' - lots of inspiration there to get out and about and enjoy life. And nice and open ended for allowing those things to change over the year if you feel like it. Thanks for joining us at #SharingtheBlogLove

So excited to see you again! Those are good goals. I never end up making resolutions or setting goals. To be honest, that has given me a great success rate on not breaking them! But I suspect it is cheating!

Thanks so much for joining us for #FridayFrolics
