Jeans! I Love My Jeans! (And #BML16 Ramblings)

Monday, 6 June 2016

As BML16 approaches, posts talking about what people are hoping to do and what they'll be wearing have started appearing.  This is mine.  Sort of ...
  • I hope to meet people and learn things that will help me create better content for people to enjoy.
  • I shall be wearing jeans and a top.  Like I do most weekends.  As BML16 is a slightly scary occasion involving lots of new people somewhere I don't know, I'm wearing something that makes me feel confident and comfortable. (You may not believe this, but I am actually quite shy).
If it was up to me, I'd wear jeans almost every day.  They're my "wardrobe champions".  Suitable for almost every occasion.  Sadly, it's not up to me so it's weekends and holidays only.  The go to shop for jeans is Fat Face. (Other shops are available).

Here is the obligatory outfit photo.  Me and the Tubblet at Grand Central Station in New York. Hopefully this will help you recognise me on the 25th.  But my hair is no longer brown.  It's grey. (Did you want to see a picture of the natural hair colour?  Should I do this, "Big Natural Hair Colour Reveal" style?)

Tubbs and the Tubblet in NY

The sort of jeans depends on what the weather is doing on the day, but these are my three favourites. It'll be one of these, plus a top:
  • The slim are mid-rise and have a slim leg that tapers so it can be tucked into boots.  The slight stretch keeps the wobbly bits under control and prevents baggy knees.  (Or worse, a baggy bum!)
  • The flares taper from the knee and also have a slight stretch.  They're great for tucking over boots, But not so great when it's been raining as the wet material flaps about the ankles and takes ages to dry.
  • The crop are prefect for summer. Long top, cardi, sandals.  Job done.  (You can see them in the outfit photo).
Do you have a favourite brand or shop where you buy jeans from?  Are you going to BML16?  What will you be wearing?  It'll help me find you and say hello.  What are you hoping to do when you're there?  Any advice for a newbie?  Let me know in the comments.

Yaaay I am going to BM16 do I know what I am wearing - NO! I am a big one for wearing dresses over jeans, I know that sounds bonkers but it does work, well I hope so! #mg

I do that too. Layers are cool :) I'm almost certainly going to be wearing a dress over jeans combo if the weather is good

I'm looking forward to meeting you! I'll be wearing jeans too, got to be comfortable! I'd say be prepared to have your head explode. What I mean is it can be quite overwhelming and you'll learn lots too! And don't forget it's okay to find a quiet corner somewhere if you need to.

I'm also going to #BML16 and I too shall probably be in jeans. I live in them so wearing anything else would make me feel uncomfortable. It's my first time going as well so I have no advice. x #marvmondays

Yay! I love jeans. At the moment I live on denim shorts but only because no one wants to see someone wearing jeans soaked through with sweat. I'm pretty sure I'll be in jeans too as even if you guys are roasting I'll probably be shivering back in old blighty. Lookin forward to seeing you there.

Mother cannot live without her jeans - her biggest delight was squeezing back into her skinny pre-me jeans post my arrival. She tends to sport Lee or pepe skinnies. Have fun at BML x #chucklemums

I'm not going to BML (although I have plans to kind of turn up to the pub afterwards) but it wouldn't even occur to me to blog about what I would be wearing. Anything without poo, wee or sick on is good enough for me. But jeans are a given! #chucklemums

Jeans! What would we do without them. I discovered that H&M mens jeans are ace when my husband bought a pair that didn't fit. That or Levi's (after saving up alot!) #twinklytuesday

I have no idea what I'm wearing to BML, and this has just reminded me that I need to do my 'I'm going' post, so thank you! But yep - jeans may well make an appearance, seeing as I live in them :-) Now I know what you look like I'll keep an eye out for you. I don't know anybody so will be the one looking lost! #chucklemums

Hi Mrs. Tubbs, being a jeans girl myself, I totally know where you are coming from. Being comfortable makes it easier to look confident (it doesn't matter what you are feeling inside!).

I hope you have a fantastic time at #BML16, and I can't say I'm not a tad green!

I love my jeans. I tend to get mine from Primark - once I'm down to target bum size shall purchase some slightly more expensive ones. I do like GAP ones and TopShop are OK as well. Thanks for linking! #chucklemums

So great to see a picture of you and the tublet! I live in my jeans too and like you would wear them everyday if I could. I totally agree that its a great idea to wear something that you feel both comfortable and confident in. I wont be going to BML this year, but will definitely be trying to live it vicariously through others so look forward to any tweets and posts you share :-) Thanks for linking this up to #MarvMondays. Have a fab time at BML, sure it will be great! Emily

YES! I'll be at BML16 and I can't wait to meet you. I won't be in jeans because frankly it's an opportunity for me to have a bit of fun and dress up! So I shall either be in a navy blue outfit or a bright dress, depending on the weather probably. I agree with one of the other commenters - it can get super warm so do wear something short sleeved on top so you don't melt! Thanks for joining us at #sharethejoy again this week x

I am sure you will have fun in the BML! I wish I can go and meet the people behind my fave blogs.

Haha - this is the best BML post! I actually don't wear jeans that much. Thick, opaque black tights are my wardrobe staple. Not on their own, I should add. I have dresses and skirts I wear with them. & shorts. Shorts are great now I have kids & have to behave in an undignified manner, often involving crawling, at all times. I think you should write 'Nicola, but call me Jean. I love my jeans' on your name tag at BML. #fartglitter
