This may be the Tubblet's first snow person. The photo was taken in 2008. I found it when I was tidying up some files.
The Tubblet, like most children, loves snow. She loves moulding it into other things. She loves the way it covers everything in a fluffy looking white blanket. Making it look wonderful, magical and special ... She likes the way normal life stops and, best of all, school may be closed. Allowing you to go off and have snow related adventures. She has been most disappointed about the lack of snow this year.
I used to love snow. Now I'm less keen. I still have to get to and from work in it. On public transport so I get to be cold too. It's slippery and I worry about landing flat on my ar*e or breaking something. I worry a bit less now my Canadian friend Lesley gave me some ice-walkers.
When I was tidying up the photos, I found this one as well. It was taken at the same time, at my bus stop. I turned up one night to wait for the bus home and there it was. A lovely reminder not to focus on downsides, but to try and make the best of it all.
Do you love snow?
I love it when i find old photographs, they bring back so many memories. Such a shame now though that most are online, i should really get them printed off! #bigpinklink
ReplyDeleteThey do! I'd completely forgotten them until I was tidying up. It was lovely to remember
DeleteI have no use for snow anymore, but like you say, the little loves it. That snowman is great, it looks a lot like the ones we make!
ReplyDeleteYou get loads more snow than we do so I can see why you've lost the love
DeleteLove love love it! As I've commented once before on someone's post: Snow is amazing and magical! Unless I have to drive in it. Then it is evil sky vomit. Great post and I love the positive message x

Evil sky vomit! That's fabulous! Thanks for commenting :)
DeleteI've got to say that I'm no longer a fan of snow! I love seeing the kids get excited by it, but I'm much more a fan of sunshine and warmer weather! #Fartglitter
ReplyDeleteOh yes, I could really use some sunshine right now!
DeleteI do love the snow and like the Tubblet have been a tad disappointed this year. However, now that I have to go to work, I do fear getting caught or worse in it. I love the picture, we have a similar one from the big freeze a few years ago. Our snowman was gifted my scarf whilst I was at work ha! X
ReplyDeleteI hate travelling to and from work when it's snowing. Such a PITA. Your photo sounds great. Tweet me!
DeleteI LOVE looking at photos of snow. I love seeing the snow outside but only if it's the proper thick foreign stuff. I love the idea of snow. In reality though, it's just seriously cold and slippery rain isn't it?! My kids love it too though. Until they get soaking wet and freezing cold! Thanks for linking up with us. #bigpinklink
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting each week :) Love the 'tash!
DeleteI love snow when I'm in my ski clothes, on my snow blades about to tackle a black run. I love it much less when I'm sliding about in slush on an road that hasn't been gritted when all the public transport has been cancelled.
ReplyDelete#fartglitter
Oh yes, much less! Thanks for hosting :)
DeleteI always envy seeing snow because it just never snows where we live, but I don't think I would like the daily reality of it, holiday in it would be lovely though #mg Thanks for sharing I love the snow person
ReplyDeleteI'd be totally happy to run a weather swap! Right now you'd be getting a grey, rainy day
DeleteWe don't get snow at all and I have only ever experienced snow a couple times in my life. I don't really like the biting cold but I must say it is something of a magical experience as it flutters down from the sky. #fartglitter
ReplyDeleteI'm offering you the same deal as MG, a weather swap! :)
DeleteI think that's the test to see if you're an adult: when it snows do you think "Yay! It's snowing!" or "Crap, now I have to shovel out the driveway and how late will that make me this morning..."
ReplyDeleteSo true! We don't have to clear our pavements though. Thank you for commenting :)
DeleteI love snow too, perhaps not so much the inconvience of having to get to and from work or to other places in it. But when it snows over a weekend and you can really properly enjoy and make the most of it, its great. We've had one very small snow day this year so far which was our little ones first snow day too, it would have been nice to have some more but im not complaining! Its lovely that you have these pics and memories :-) Thanks for linking up to #MarvMondays. Emily
ReplyDeleteSnow at the weekend is perfect. Provided it's melted by Monday. Thank you for hosting :)
