The Manse Tour

Friday, 15 January 2016

I've shared my favourite things about my home, but having had a interior designer visit made me think it would be nice to do an manse tour.  (Manse is just another word for vicarage, pastor's or minister's house).

I love looking round other people's houses, but the thought of sharing our entire home makes me uncomfortable.  And requires too much cleaning and tidying! Instead, I've shared some things that reflect our lives and that I really like.  Hope you enjoy the tour!

Tea and coffee will be served at the end and your soundtrack for the tour is David Bowie.  Loud.

I remember seeing pictures of Ziggy in my big sister's Jackie magazines and watching him on Top of the Pops, thinking he looked and sounded amazing. To the sounds of parental tutting and muttering. It's a shame that the lack of Tops of the Pops now means the Tubblet will miss that particular rite of passage.   When I was older, I borrowed his albums from the record library and taped them.  (Killing music, I know).  He made growing up in South London cool.  And gave it a great soundtrack.

Upstairs:

Derek the Dalek and Stars Wars Lego

Flower painting

Downstairs:

Mug and measuring spoons

Gerbils

Bye and thank you for coming!  See you soon.

Sharing with all these great Linkys

Thanks for the trip around your house!! I want a Derek the Darlec, preferably one that also cleans the floor. Did you ever see David Bowie live? I would have loved to have seen him as Ziggy Stardust.

Too young to see Ziggy and didn't see any of the later tours sadly. I did see Alan Rickman on stage though. Another sad loss :(

Everyone loves that dalek. There have been a few attempts to remove him, but so far i have foiled them all. He's great :)

Love that dalek! My OH is obsessed with Dr Who so we have an ever growing collection of figures which keep escaping the 'man cave'. :D #binkylinky

I love Who while my OH loves Star Wars. I've given up. All I ask is that it's not tacky. :)

It's great to see inside people's houses isn't it? There's something so fascinating, there's rightly been a lot of Bowie soundtracks, with many of us re-discovering his back catalogue and realising just how extensive it is. Thanks for linking to #PoCoLo x
