Family Life, the Universe and Everything with a Latte on the Side

Sometimes ...

Friday, 27 November 2015

You just do the right thing because you know it's the right thing.   The thing that a thoughtful, kind, caring and decent person would do.  Because you are that decent, caring person.  (If I was a truely decent person, I wouldn't be passively aggressively bitching about this on my blog.  No moral high ground for me.  Although I haven't named names or shared details.  So maybe a small pot of high ground?!  A really small pot).

If the other person can't appreciate that, then screw them.  Even if they totally don't deserve it.  And you really don't feel like doing it.  And what you'd really like to do is the exact opposite ... A piece of your mind.  A punch in the face.

Knowing that is powerful.  A gift.  Yeah, that's the word I was looking for ... gift.

Bacon sandwich with red sauce

And here's a picture of a lovely bacon sandwich with red sauce.  Because most things feel better after liberal applications of bacon ... Unless you're a vegetarian.  Especially when
  • Rev T and the Tubblet are with you and
  • You've not had to cook it or wash the pan up afterwards.
If something similar has happened to you, then if appropriate, then please share in the comments!  Or we could talk about the magical, healing powers of bacon or similar substances.  What things lift your spirits?

Sharing with all these great Linkys

I bet that felt good to get out, so many times we have to turn the other cheek when we really don't want to.

Sometimes its best to be the better person and show compassion even when the other person doesn't deserve it - once. After that, then the person isn't someone you want in your life. And yes, bacon helps :) #effitfriday

Sometimes they have to stay in your life as you can't get rid of them. So you need to work out how to navigate them. And that takes bacon! As well as compassion and self control ;) Thank you for commenting and see you next week for #anythinggoes

I agree that bacon should be applied to more situations in life. I'm sure facon would suffice for the flesh free crew #TheList

Bacon definitely makes things better, especially when someone else has cooked it for you! My go to food healer is a bar of chocolate, you know like the ones big enough to share? Hope you're ok! xx #pocolo #TheLost

Sorry to hear that. Let's hope you have a better week next week :) Thank you for hosting each week. It'll be weird next year without it, but if stopping is the best thing for you, then fair play

I think most people have had this experience at some point. (Unless the same specific group of people are always the unappreciative ones, in which case there is a group of people who have had this experience, and a group of oblivious, unappreciative people annoying them!) Not bacon for me, though. Bacon's okay, but not one of my special foods! #PoCoLo

Bacon makes everything better. As does chocolate. And the smug knowledge that you are indeed the better person. And being able to tell everyone that!!! x
