We gathered as a family a few weeks ago. Nothing to celebrate, but just because. As we live on opposite sides of the motorway, we hadn't seen each other for a bit and wanted to catch up on each other's news. We try and find places fairly near motorway exits so no one has to drive for ages. This time, we met up at the White Hart at Chipstead, Surrey. Monster portions of good, yummy, well cooked food, decent beer, not eye-wateringly expensive, helpful staff, comfy chairs, excellent coffee and well cared for toilets. (My food reviews May Need Work, but what else do you really need to know?! Oh, and I ate the food rather than photographing it. Opps!)
It was a great afternoon of eating, chatting, drinking (responsibly) and a country walk. Just being together. Home. Because home is laughter, familiar voices and the things you miss when you're away. While home can be a house, it's the people in it that make it and who you take with you. And it turns up in unexpected places. Like a country pub. No photos of the rest of the family who Don't Do Social Media, but here are some of us on our healthy walk.
Thank you for reading. I hope you enjoyed the walk. Let's grab a drink.
